The Paracas Candelabra is an enigmatic and gigantic figure located on the side of a hill on the Paracas peninsula, Peru. This spectacular geoglyph measures approximately 180 meters long and can be clearly seen from the sea. The shape of the Candelabra has generated many theories about its origin and purpose. Some believe it was created by the Paracas culture around 200 BC, while others suggest it could have served as a nautical signal or even had religious or astronomical meanings. The figure is carved from the arid earth and its design has withstood the passage of time and the inclemencies of the weather, remaining remarkably intact. This durability is due in part to the little rainfall the region receives and the composition of the terrain. Visiting the Candelabro is a fascinating experience that offers a unique insight into the archaeological mysteries of Peru and a direct connection to the ancient civilizations that inhabited the region.
