A new ultra-luxury cruise by Silversea has opened its bookings for its World Cruise 2020. The unprecedented seven-continent cruise will visit an incredible 62 ports in 32 countries – including a stop in Antarctica. It will be the first ship to truly sail around the world.
This pioneering voyage will take place on the vessel the Silver Whisper. The epic adventure cruise is scheduled to take 140 days or around four-and-a-half months.
Departing Fort Lauderdale in Florida on January 6, 2020, the ship plans to head south through the Caribbean, along the coast of South America. Going around Cape Branco, it will reach the Antarctic Peninsula for a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife spotting excursion. Then rounding Cape Horn, it will stop at Chile and then head west to French Polynesia, calling in at islands such as Bora Bora, Papeete, and Vanuatu.
It will then make its way to Sydney and Melbourne. Next, the luxury liner will travel to Bali, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Mumbai before entering the Red Sea. Heading through the Suez Canal, it will continue on to South-eastern Europe, visiting France, Spain, and Portugal. The Silver Whisper will then make its way up to the British Isles, stopping at Dublin, before passing through the stunning Norwegian Fjords. The World Cruise is set to end in Amsterdam on May 25, 2020.
The Luxurious Pioneering World Cruise
Housing 382 passengers, the cruise ship is decked out in utmost luxury. Each room features Pratesi linens from Italy, a bar and fully stocked refrigerator, bathrooms with tubs, writing desks, and large closets. The more luxurious packages even include private verandas and dedicated butler service.
Suites on the World Cruise 2020 start at US$62,000 per person, going up to $250,000 for the Owner’s Suite. However, this steep price-tag includes air travel (business class), onboard spending money of $4,000, unlimited Wi-Fi, laundry, medical coverage, visa packages, and an arctic parka for cold-weather expeditions.
