Best Dog Friendly Beaches
1. Montrose Dog Beach, Chicago
Montrose Dog Beach is located in the northwest corner of Montrose Beach on Lake Michigan. The beach opens from dawn and is open till 9 PM. There is a dog-wash available. You can clean all the sand properly and later can shampoo and condition them. There also is a dog-food truck that serves do cookies and treats. You need to buy a tag for your pet worth $5 and also a vet clearance to get in the dog-friendly areas. Prepare before you head to the beach.
2. Dog Beach, Fort Myers Beach, Florida
From dawn to dusk, the beach is open for dogs. The beach has a dog shower station to wash off the sand and dirt. Owners are requested to clean before they leave. Parking is free but alcohol is not allowed on the beach. The beach is designated for dogs and their owners. Maybe its time to take your pooch to a location where he can run freely and have fun.
3. Block Island, Rhode Island
You can reach Block Island by ferry or by plane. The beach is perfect for your friend. Dogs can even ride a ferry with their owners for free. There are slow boats as well ad high-speed ferries that the canines can enjoy. There might be time restrictions that you can ask from the locals. But the beach is clean and perfect for a dog vacation.
4. Del Mar Dog Beach, California
Dogs are supposed to leash during summers starting from June 15th. The leash cannot be longer than six feet. But the rest of the days, dogs can run and play with their owners. The beach is nearly half a mile long and is bordered with the Solana beach. After a long day of playing and fetching you can rest back and enjoy the beautiful sunset along the beach.
5. Llevant Beach, Barcelona, Spain
Although dogs are banned from most of the beaches in Barcelona, you can take your cute little guy to The end of this beach and let him enjoy the best summers of his life. Barcelona has decided to allow dogs on a small section of the beach. There are separate urinals for the pets and showers as well. They are also thinking to expand the beach a little. Till date, the beach can afford to entertain a hundred dogs at a time. Guess your furball will make a lot of friends there.
6. Burrow Beach, Dublin
Burrow Beach offers spots for dog lovers to enjoy the beach waves and forget the stress with your fur-friend. The beach was awarded as the Green Coast Award for 2018. The long sand connects Howth Head to the mainland. And this beautiful site is near the Irish Sea. The beach is clean and perfect for your dog. It has all the facilities for dogs to feel comfortable. Dog shower and dog food are two of those facilities.
7. Haulover Beach Park, Florida
Located in Florida, Haulover beach part offers a bark park. This bark park features picnic tables, drinking fountains as well as waste bags for your dog’s disposal. The bark park opens at 8 AM in the morning and closes till sunset, seven days a week. The parking fee is $2 and dogs are most welcome on the beach. This is surely a must visit for the pets and masters.
8. Jekyll Island Beach: Jekyll Island, Georgia
The beach allows leashed dogs on the driftwood beach. The leashes should not be longer than 16 feet though. The only issue is that the beach might be inaccessible due to high tides, So it’s better to research before you head to this beach. Dogs are not allowed to run freely for the protection of migratory birds and sea turtles. But undoubtedly a wonderful place to visit.
9. Wildwood Dog Beach, New Jersey
The place is perfect for dogs. There is a two-story hydrant on the beach decorated with paw prints and dog bones. Dogs are supposed to remain leashed on the beach but there is a fence-in where dogs can run around and play unleashed. Freshwater and disposable bags are available on the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk but to woo him you can get him a stuffed animal souvenir.
10. Skateholm Beach, Sweden
The beach is close to Skateholm campsite, which is also dog-friendly FYI. On this white sand beach, you can let your dog free and let him exercise as much as he wants to. You can grab him a snack afterwards and let him play again. The beach is open from dawn to dusk. So timing is surely not an issue.
