Along
Along (also known as Aalo) is situated in the West Siang District and is situated on the border of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The town is famous for its orange farming, and Along’s oranges are extremely popular. It is also known for its many archaeological excavations. Malinithan, a temple site, was excavated here, though the artefacts are now stored at Jawaharlal Nehru Museum. A hanging bridge made of cane and bamboo is also a popular site to see here.
Pasighat
Pasighat is said to be the oldest towns of Arunachal Pradesh. The village is famous for its rich history and is the perfect place for adventure activities with its cliffs, waterfalls, and hanging bridges. The local Adi tribe practices terrace farming that makes the nearby hills especially picturesque.
Mechuka
Nestled in the forested Mechuka Valley, the small town of Mechuka lies along the banks of the Yargyapchu River (also known as the River Siyom). Just a few hours away from Along, this town is famous for its scenic beauty, of gentle hills and snow-capped mountains. Also here is a fascinating 400-year-old Buddhist monastery with many ancient statues.
BONUS: Bramhaputra River
Don’t forget to see the beautiful Bramhaputra River. The river is also known as the Tsangpo in China and is one of the largest rivers in the world.
