On this short tour, we'll show you some of our favorite spots, share tales of times past, and give you an insight into life in a part of Scotland that is closer to Norway than it is to Edinburgh.
With all travel and accommodation included, this is the ideal way to experience the sights of Shetland without the stress of planning.
In just two days on the islands, we'll see some of the best sights; prehistoric Jarlshof, beautiful St Ninians and the dramatic Eshaness Cliffs are just a few of the highlights.
Travel by coach to Aberdeen to join the overnight Northlink ferry to Lerwick, Shetland.

Accommodations : Overnight in a comfortable cabin on board the ferry.
Upon disembarking the ferry, join your local coach and meet your driver and knowledgeable Shetland tour guide. Leaving the town, take in the sights with a driving tour on the coach.

Our first stop is St Ninian's Isle, connected to the mainland by a stunning tombolo. Named after Shetland's patron saint, the island is probably the most photographed spot in Shetland- you'll soon see why!

One of Scotland's most important archaeological sites, Jarlshof contains remains from as-far back as 2500BC. Enjoy included entry and an audio tour guide. Be sure to spend a little time exploring the gift shop to pick up some Shetland treasures of your own.

The southernmost point of the Shetland Mainland, Sumburgh Head Lighthouse has been operating since 1821. Learn about the important role it has played in Shetland's history with included entrance to the lighthouse and exhibition. The cliffs surrounding Sumburgh Head are home to a great array of birdlife. Take a moment to soak up the views. We will have some free time here to grab a coffee or light refreshments from the excellent on-site café.

Our next stop is Shetland's former capital, Scalloway. This picture-perfect fishing village played an important role in the Shetland Bus operation during WW2. Learn about this and the village's maritime & fishing history with an included visit to Scalloway Museum. We will also enjoy some free time to take in the views, browse the excellent local shops or pause for refreshments in one of the inviting cafes. You will also have the opportunity to join your guide on a short walking tour, leading to the Shetland Bus Memorial which pays homage to the heroes of the wartime operation.

We stop at Carol's Ponies in the beautiful Tingwall Valley to get a chance to meet some of Shetland's most famous natives, the iconic Shetland Pony. Carol will give a short talk about these stunning animals and her work with them.

Arrive at our overnight hotel where we have plenty of time to relax before dinner. We spend the night at the 3-star Busta House Hotel, Busta, Shetland ZE2 9QN. With centuries of history, this stunning property backs onto the water's edge and offers excellent views across the voe (bay) to the village of Brae.

Our first stop today is Tangwick Haa, a 17th Century lairds' house which offers a fascinating insight to local history in this remote corner of the world.

We visit Eshaness Cliffs, one of the wildest spots in the UK. Admire the stunning views whilst listening to the vengeful Atlantic waves crashing beneath you.

We make a brief comfort stop in the pretty village of Hillswick where there is an opportunity to take photos of the picturesque coastline or stock up on snacks or local crafts from the village shop.

Stop for a traditional fish & chip lunch at the award-winning Frankie's. Located in Brae, this is the most northerly fish & chip shop in the country.

We return to Lerwick for a visit to the Shetland Museum, an excellent, modern interactive experience.

We enjoy some free time for shopping and sightseeing in Shetland's capital, Lerwick. Late afternoon we head back to the ferry port to board the overnight ferry back to Aberdeen, bidding a fond farewell to this island paradise.
