During the infamous transatlantic slave trade, Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park was one of the biggest slave markets, gathering people to sell into slavery. Since you will be traveling along the path that many African Americans' ancestors took, it is especially worthwhile to see as a prelude to seeing Cape Coast Slave Castle. Slaves took their final bath at Assin Manso before continuing on their journey. Additionally, it contains the location of the reburial of the repatriated remains of two diasporas, Carson from New York and Lady Crystal from Jamaica.
