Overview
I am an experienced guide with a background in Japanese cultural studies and a long time foreign resident of Japan which will offer you a unique perspective of our beloved city of Kyoto. This tour gives you an opportunity to not just travel around Kyoto with other travelers but locals as well. I invite my local Japanese friends to join so we can engage in conversation and explore the sights together. Our tour will have you meeting locals and other travelers as well as visiting some of the most exciting places in Kyoto!

What To Expect
Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
We will start our journey together from our meeting point at the Starbucks located at the bottom of Kyoto Tower. From there, we will walk to the train station together and ride a train to Fushimi Inari. This will take approximately 20 minutes. We will then visit the beautiful vermilion Torii gates of Fushimi Inari Shrine. We will spend around 30-40 minutes exploring together before we move on to our next attraction.

Bamboo Forest Street
After Fushimi Inari Shrine, we will ride the train for approximately 30 minutes to Arashiyama where we will visit the world famous Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. We will have travel around the area for roughly 1.5 hours before hopping on the train to our next destination which is Kinkakuji.

Kinkakuji Temple
We will see one of the true gems of Kyoto, the beautiful world heritage Kinkakuji, Golden Pavilion. We will spend about 30 minutes in Kinkakuji. After our visit to Kinkakuji, we will go to the other side of town to visit one of Kyoto's most popular Geisha Districts, Gion.

Gion
After taking public transport from Kinrakuji, we will arrive in Gion. In Gion, we will enjoy a lunch at one of my favorite local restaurants. Our next area of interest after our lunch together will be the Geisha District of Gion. Here we will travel the scenic streets of the famous Gion Geisha District for approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Yasui-Konpiragu
After a pleasant stroll through Gion, our final stop of the day will have us visit one of Kyoto's unusual shrines where we can learn the back story to one of Kyoto's most peculiar shrines. We will spend about about 30 minutes here before walking towards the Kamo river to our finishing point. The tour will finish at the intersection of Kawabata and Gion Shijo Station just next to the Kamo River.
