Lots of people want to travel abroad on their vacations. However, getting a visa to these places can become a long an arduous process, not to mention an expensive one. Many countries around the world offer visa-free entry for those who hold the passports of specific countries. If no visa is required, visitors are generally free to enter the country from any legal border crossing, without a visa for a specified period of time.

Numerous headlines stating that “Indian passport holders can travel to 58 countries without a visa” can thus be misleading, as many of these destinations require visas on arrival, or eVisas (see below). As of February 2019, Indian passport holders can travel to 21 countries without a visa, and lots of others offer visa on arrival or eVisas.
