Overview
The Entrance Pass is the cheapest option for those wishing to visit the Arenal Observatory Lodge & Spa for the day. The Entrance Pass includes access to all of the installations at the lodge and its surrounding nature reserve. The pool and jacuzzi area is the only area whose use is prohibited for COVID-19 politics.
By reserving this experience you can enjoy 11km (7 miles) of well-maintained hiking and mountain biking trails (no bikes for rent). The property has 870 acres (352 hectares) that cross the tropical jungle of the Arenal Volcano. Our trails have access to waterfalls and suspension bridges.
At the halfway point you will be able to climb one of the tallest observation towers in Costa Rica with a spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano and the surrounding mountains. On our trails you can find lots of wildlife including monkeys, anteaters, coatis, frogs and more than 500 species of birds.

Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails
The Arenal Observatory Trails is known for offering some of the most spectacular scenery and wildlife viewing opportunities in all of Costa Rica. The 11 kilometers (7 miles) of trails, two observation towers, and two hanging bridges all provide unique avenues for you to bathe yourself in the raw nature of Arenal Volcano National Park. The best part, you don’t have to be a hotel guest to experience the awe-inspiring 350-hectare (865-acre) nature reserve at the Arenal Observatory. For those wishing to visit the Arenal Observatory Lodge & Spa for hiking, mountain biking, trail running, wildlife viewing, birding, photography, ecotherapy, or any other outdoor activity, the lodge has the day pass available.
