Visiting Kolocep by kayak offers paddlers an intimate view of simple island life. Kayakers who venture to Kolo?ep are rewarded with spectacular views of Dubrovnik, the open sea, and the Elafiti Islands. The tour begins with car transport from Dubrovnik to Zaton Bay. Kolo?ep is an island stopped in time. The island has a population of roughly 150 and is without roads or cars. The island's dramatic cliffs rise abruptly from the sea, revealing wind carved caves. Visit the island’s two small settlements, hike its shady walking trails, and sample and purchase products grown and produced on the tiny island: homemade jams, dried herbs, rakija, candied fruits, and virgin olive at a family farm stand. Paddle to an unforgettable lunch at a charming seaside restaurant in one of the island’s 2 small settlements. Highlights include snorkeling in Blue Cave, swimming in a cove surrounded by towering cliffs, walking through pine forest and citrus groves, and feasting on the local catch of the day.
From Pile Gate (the western entrance to Old City), walk towards the Hilton Hotel. Climb the stairs just past the Konzum market and cafe, turn right at the top. From the back of the Hilton, climb roughly 100 steps to #6. Enter through the green metal door to the terrace covered in kayak gear.

Meet at the Adriatic Kayak Tours office near Old Town for car transfer to our kayak base in Zaton Bay. The 2 km deep bay, protected from the winds and free of the motor boat traffic near Old Town, is a perfect spot to begin our paddling adventure. Paddle to the mouth of the bay for a first glimpse of Kolocep Island, our destination. After visiting Kolocep's dramatic cliffs & caves, we paddle to a small village for a seaside lunch at a family-owned restaurant accessible only by boat or on foot. Hike to a secluded swimming spot on the back side of the island and to a family farm stand to purchase local Kolocep Island products: olive oil, lavender, home made brandies and sweets. At some point, we must say good-bye to Kolocep Island for the return paddle back to Zaton Bay (roughly 45 minutes) to put kayaks and gear away, and return to Dubrovnik by car after our refreshing and invigorating day.
