Hiking in Padis karst plateau, one of the iconic areas in the heart of the Western Carpathians and home to some of the last forested karst landscapes in Europe will always provide travelers with unforgettable memories.
A professional tour leader, specialised in Western Carpathians nature interpretation will guide you along the creeks that shaped some impressive places such as Pestera Caput/Caput Cave, Izvorul Rece karst spring, Poiana Ponor/Ponor Glade, Cetatile Ponorului/Ponorului Fortresses karst system. He will explain the dynamic of this very specific landscape and will help you understand the way nature works creating these spectacular natural phenomena.
A trip designed as an accessible adventure to anyone willing to enjoy a one day escape, starting and ending in Oradea.
Relaxed pace, plenty of time to admire the scenery, for photos and for picnic lunch.

Across the street from 1 Decembrie Park there is a little Profi City store. In front of this there is the place where our van is parked and we meet.

What To Expect
The travellers will receive all the details (including contact info) regarding place and time for meeting.
At the meeting point (P-ta 1 Decembrie no. 4-6) the van and the guide will be waiting for the group.
The group will embark on the van and will travel to Padis area (Apuseni Nature Park) in the mountains, where the trip takes place. Travel from Oradea to the mountain area will take approx. 1,5 hours one way.
Arrive in the area, short presentation of the area and then start hiking. We will be hiking for about 6-7 hours (circuit), explore and learn about the karst landscape. On our way we will see Poiana Ponor/Ponor Glade, Ponor karst spring, Cetatile Ponorului/Ponorului Fortresses karst complex. The pace will be a relaxed one, with time enough for rest and photos.
On return, the group will be dropped-off at the same place where they met in the morning.
Outdoor boots and raincoat required.
Group size: minimum 2 - maximum 8 pax.
