Castello di Barolo, of ancient origins, the first body dates back to the 10th century, the castle has undergone several transformations over time. From a defense manor to a noble country residence, to a rigid college of religious: each destination has left some traces in the halls of the large building. What is most striking of the castle is its bulk, which dominates and almost crushes the town with its grandeur, a tangible image of the power of the lords of the places. On the upper floors there is the ethnographic-oenological museum of Barolo, an exhibition of ancient viticultural and oenological tools in use in the area, documenting the life and work of the winemakers in the Langhe; in other rooms, a collection of wine crystals and old photographs of the town. The Regional Enoteca is located in the cellars, where the Marquise Giulia baptized the first Barolo. Since 2010 it has housed the WiMu Wine Museum.
