Fukuchi Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, where Agano ware with a history of over 400 years is still being produced today. This one-day plan allows visitors to experience the history of Agano pottery and its attractions.
Agano ware is a nationally designated traditional craft with its roots in tea ceremony ceramics, which developed as an official kiln of the Kokura clan. This special lunch is served in Agano Yaki pottery, which has inherited its history while infusing it with the essence of the modern age.
Before lunch, visit the Agano Pottery Kiln and deepen your understanding of Agano pottery through a tour of the kiln, a pottery making experience and a tea ceremony experience. A local guide will also give you a guided tour of the direct sales facilities for Agano ware.

Move to Fureai juku from Agano area and have lunch. After lunch the tour ends here.
Meet at the "Agano no Sato Fureai Koryu Kaikan"(2811-1 Agano, Fukuchi, Tagawa District, Fukuoka 822-1102, Japan), an exhibition and sales Centre with works from various potters, and learn about the town and Agano ware from a local guide. Then move to Watari-gama.

Move to the Watari Kiln (Japan, 822-1102 Fukuoka, Tagawa District, Fukuchi, Agano, 3065) and tour the kiln site with the kiln owner. After enjoying a tea ceremony experience using Agano ware tea utensils, you will be able to try your hand at making a cup of your choice, such as a teacup or a plate. The finished pieces will be sent to you at a later date (postage not included).

Back to Agano no Sato Fureai Koryu Kaikan (2811-1 Agano, Fukuchi, Tagawa District, Fukuoka 822-1102, Japan). Based on the experience at the Watari Kiln, the local guide will reiterate the characteristics of each kiln. Feel free to do some shopping at the Ueno Ware Pottery Museum and the Fureai Market, a direct sales outlet for agricultural products.

Move to Fureaijuku (1094-1 Kōzaki, Fukuchi, Tagawa District, Fukuoka 822-1202, Japan). Agano ware is a nationally designated traditional craft with its roots in 'tea ceramics', which developed as the official kiln of the Kokura clan. This is a special lunch served in Agano Yaki dishes that have inherited the history of the kiln while infusing it with the essence of the modern age. The lunch using Agano ware will be served at the Fureai Juku, which was also chosen as the location for the German car manufacturer Audi's 2022 calendar. The lunch will be served in the open-air dining area on the lawn of Fureai Juku, which is normally closed to the public, and will include a special lunch using local ingredients prepared by the local Japanese restaurant. After lunch, please spend your free time on the pleasant lawn. Option: When the Fureai Juku is not available, you can choose a special lunch with Ueno ware at a restaurant in the town.
