Located just 45 minutes South of Punta Arenas' Downtown core, this little-trafficked hiking trail will take you from the pebbled beach through the quiet rainforest and up to the summit of Mount Tarn. Reconnect with nature- and yourself- as you hike with only Patagonia’s wilderness to keep you company.
Taste the salty air of the strait as you climb through the verdant green forests that cover the base of Mount Tarn, contrasting with the blue of the Strait of Magellan.

What To Expect
Mount Tarn
After taking time to warm up your muscles, set out to enjoy your hike through the Patagonian forest. This 14 km (8.7 mi) in-and-back hike undulates steadily upwards through the forest with a total elevation gain of 825 m (2707 ft) over the course of the trail. The time you spend hiking will vary based on weather conditions, group fitness, and interpretive moments on the trail. Usually, this hike will take 8.5 to 9 hours.

This is one of the most incredible bays on the Brunswick Peninsula with an incredible history since 1520 by Magellan to nowadays the artisanal fishing activity as part of the identity of southern Patagonia.
