Overview
Are you a "road-less-travelled" kind of person? Would you like to experience a beautiful, quieter, less touristy part of Nova Scotia? Join us for a 2-hour Zodiac coastal tour through Tanner's Pass and Lunenburg's Back Passage - a pristine part of the Atlantic Ocean.
We are the only operator in the area offering guided tours in professional, expedition Zodiacs. These popular, inflatable boats are identical to the ones you would find on expedition ships around the world. (We operate them as polar photographers and expedition guides in Canada’s sub-arctic and Antarctica!)
So what will we see? It is common to see numerous seals, osprey, great blue herons, mink, and deer (among other fauna) as we Explore the South Shore. We’ll also talk about flora, fauna and geology as we cruise Tanner’s Pass, Schooner Cove, Heckman’s Island and the Back Passage to Lunenburg. It truly is one of the prettiest parts of Nova Scotia!

Please follow Stonehurst Road to the end and look for our sign. Once you have arrived, park in front of the brown house and make your way to the red barn located behind the house.

What To Expect
On the day of your tour, we are located a short, 10 minute drive from downtown Lunenburg. Once you arrive at the Lunenburg Retreat, we'll have you fitted for a PFD before loading up on the Zodiac. Once we push back from the wharf, we'll have a quick safety briefing and then we'll press on to see what we can find during your 2-hour tour! It is common to see Atlantic grey seals, osprey, great blue herons, mink, and deer as we explore Tanner's Pass and Lunenburg's Back Passage. However, our true goal is to provide guests an opportunity to learn about flora, fauna and geology in a quieter, less touristy part of beautiful Nova Scotia.

- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
- Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
