Morpeth is our first stop after departing Newcastle, founded as a quaint township in 1821. We will pause here for a rest break to explore its charming streets lined with boutiques selling fashion, home decor, jewelry, artisanal foods, and local art. Browse for rare finds and local treasures at Morpeth Antique Centre inside the historic Campbell's Store, or admire the latest works at Morpeth Gallery. As the birthplace of Arnott's biscuits, Morpeth is home to the original 1850s bakehouse owned by the Arnott family. Enjoy a coffee, stroll the historic main street, admire the riverside garden, or shop at the boutiques and vintage stores before we continue on our journey.

As we continue on our journey, we'll stop at Boot Hill, one of Australia's most curious roadside attractions. Hundreds of shoes and boots hang along the fence of a farming property that was originally adorned with just a 'Boot Hill' sign and a few pairs. Now, nearly 1,000 discarded shoes and boots from near and far festoon the fence, evoking a playful spirit of adventure. We’ll take some pics and head on our way.

Next stop is Ladies Well, a popular swimming hole located within Chichester State Forest on the Allyn River, in the foothills of the Barrington Tops. Here visitors can enjoy the cool waters of the river surrounded by granite boulders and lush forest. Featuring cascades and sun-warmed rocks.

Now it’s time to see what an Aussie farm is all about. We will take a tour of a family-owned and sustainably operated farm. After a guided tour of the farm with a certified farmer, where you'll get up close with cattle and take in the scenic NSW countryside, enjoy a classic Australian lunch - a sausage sizzle featuring the farm's highest quality, farm-to-table beef.

On our journey back to Newcastle, we will make a stop in the charming historic town of Dungog to visit Tinshed Brewery, a locally owned craft brewery where all the beers are brewed onsite using Australian and European ingredients. Nestled in dairy and timber country and surrounded by rolling hills and the Williams River, this small country town of just over 2,000 residents features the James Theatre, Australia's oldest operating cinema housed in a beautiful Spanish-style building.
