Enjoy the authentic experience of a guided tour of an underground ancient Olive oil Mill.
At the bar stop try the traditional "Leccese Coffee" and the delicious Pasticciotto!
You will also visit 2 of the 9 small villages part of the "Salentine Greek" an area inhabited by the Griko people, an ethnic Greek minority. Very interesting!!
In Galatina we visit one of the most beautiful Basilicas of Puglia (Basilica di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria).
Last but not the least a wonderful Wine taste of Primitivo Wine OR a Traditional Puglian Lunch (only on request).
Finally you experience a tiny local train for the way back to lecce.

What To Expect
Sternatia
After one hour bike ride (17km) through the Lecce countryside sorrounded by Olive trees and magestic Masserias you are welcome to Sternatia! Sternatia is one of the nine towns of "Grecìa Salentina" where the greek dialect Griko is spoken. Here we will have a guided tour (20 mins) of an ancient Olive oil mill (Frantoio Ipogeo). After the visit we do a Bar STOP (30 Mins) where you can try the traditional Caffe Leccese and the famous Pasticciotto.

Corigliano d'Otranto
After 30 mins bike ride (9 km) you are welcome in Corigliano D'otranto. This town is another of the nine Towns of the "Salentine Greece" . This area is inhabited by the Griko people, an ethnic Greek minority that preserves the ancient Greek language and culture. Here we visit the medieval castle (1519) of the Monti's family. A mix of military and feudal architecture sorraunded by beautiful Renaissance round medieval towers.

Centro storico di Galatina
After 30 mins bike (9km) ride welcome to Galatina! Here we visit at “The Basilica di Santa Caterina d’Alessandria” which is a real treasure of art and ancient times, This chruch safeguards magnificent frescoes and merges together different architectural styles- from the Roman, to the Gothic, to the Norman and Byzantine style. After we have either lunch in a traditional restaurant OR a wine taste and aperitvo finger food at the Wine cellar. After the traditional puglian lunch and primitivo wine we take the TRAIN from galatina back to lecce (1 hour TRAIN ride)
