Ballyknocken Cookery School is situated on a sheep farm only 47km from Dublin in the garden of Ireland Co. Wicklow, surrounded by mature gardens, lush fruit, vegetable and herb gardens, a haven for wildlife, with beautiful views of the majestic Carrick Mountain and Forest. Our award winning cookery school is owned and managed by Daytime Emmy nominated Irish Celebrity Chef Catherine Fulvio.

Ballyknocken House entrance, the car park is on your left as you enter. Ballyknocken Cookery School is through the arched trees to the right at the top of the car park. Follow the path along the Herb Garden and come on in through the yellow doors your tutor will be waiting to welcome you.

What To Expect

Welcome to Ballyknocken Cookery School, in this private hands-on experience you get to perfect, learning from an expert, the art of making a real traditional Irish favourite!

You will be making delicious sweet scones that will be crunchy on top but deliciously soft inside. We have special tips & techniques that we love to share so that you can recreate the perfect bakes.

You will get to enjoy the scones straight from the oven, with Irish farmhouse butter and our Ballyknocken signature homemade rhubarb & ginger jam, using rhubarb from our kitchen garden of course. You will be able to enjoy with copious amounts of Barry's Irish tea!

These recipes are a family favourite passed down through the generations of home bakers at Ballyknocken Farmhouse and have been shown by our own Catherine Fulvio on NBC Today Show and on Recipe.tv, where they been warmly welcomed as the definitive Irish afternoon tea treat.

You’ll also have the chance to purchase signed copies of one of Catherine’s 4 award winning cookbooks, see the sheep in the fields & soak up the beauty of the gardens when you are here.
