The Kalyan Minaret, erected in 1127, is the sole remaining section of the Kara-khanid era mosque constructed by Mohammad Arslan Khan. It predates the Mongol invasions and stands impressively at a height of 45.6 meters. Despite its historical significance, the minaret was spared from destruction by Genghis Khan, who was so impressed by its grandeur that he chose not to order its demolition. Today, it remains a focal point of Bukhara, situated prominently in the Po-i-Kalyan square.
