See why us locals love the Cotswolds! On this one-day tour, you'll get out of the minibus and into the countryside to explore Broadway Tower, Broadway and Burford, and experience the Cotswolds' celebrated walking trails.
You'll enjoy up to three glorious walks on this tour: a short walk to Broadway Tower Country Park for panoramic views and red deer sightings (1 mile/1.6km); Broadway Tower to Broadway following The Cotswold Way (1.5 miles/2.4km; optional); figure-of-eight walk in the Windrush Valley to 3 secluded Cotswold villages (2.75 miles/4.5km; shorter option available; optional).
Between stops, travel the narrow country lanes, while your friendly local driver-guide brings the Cotswolds to life with a fun live commentary.
Tour includes pick-up from central Stratford-upon-Avon or Moreton-in-Marsh railway station, enabling an easy connection by train London, Reading, Oxford, Worcester or Birmingham.
For departures from Moreton-in-Marsh rail station, please wait in front of the ticket office. Our minibus will arrive in the car park. Be ready to depart at 09.30. We'll email you the day before the tour to tell you which of our minibuses to look out for, but you shouldn't be able to miss it!

We have two pick up points for this tour: we collect our first passengers in Stratford-upon-Avon at 08.50 for a 09.00 departure, then travel to Moreton-in-Marsh rail station to collect our final passengers at 09.30. From Moreton-in-Marsh station, it's a 15-minute drive to our first stop, where we park the minibus and start our walk to Broadway Tower. This is a gently undulating walk along a short section of the Cotswold Way (0.85 miles / 1.4km), which takes approximately 30 minutes at a leisurely pace. The walk passes through ancient woodland, agricultural land and wildflower meadows, and there are stunning views across the beautiful English countryside.

Perched on top of Beacon Hill - the second highest point in the Cotswolds - Broadway Tower has plenty of stories to tell and stunning views of the English countryside. Minimum amount of walking required to visit this stop: 1.7 miles / 2.75km. On arrival at the tower your guide will tell you all about its history. You'll then have some free time to discover Broadway Tower Country Park. We can access Broadway Tower Country Park free of charge as it is located on a public footpath, however there is a fee if you wish to go inside the Tower to get a higher view and explore the small museum inside (admission fee not included; pay on entry), visit the shop/café or explore the lovely grounds. Then, you'll have the choice to either walk with your guide back to the minibus back along the Cotswold Way (0.85 miles / 1.4km) or, for more experienced walkers, continue along the Cotswold Way down the hill to our next stop, Broadway (approximately 1.5 miles / 2.5km).

Leaving Broadway refreshed after lunch, we'll drive to the Cotswold town of Burford for a brief toilet stop if needed.* Then, we'll travel to the Cotswold village of Asthall, where the notorious Mitford sisters grew up at Asthall Manor. Asthall is the starting point for our beautiful figure-of-eight walk through the Windrush Valley (max. 4.5km/2.75 miles, with a shorter option available). *If you prefer not to do the afternoon walk, we can leave you in Burford for extra free time instead.

The middle point of our figure-of-eight walk brings us to the pretty village of Swinbrook. Here you can explore the church, and the graveyard where members of the infamous Mitford family are buried. The pretty village green, with its small brook, white picket fence and red telephone box, is a quintessentially English photo opportunity. If you'd like to cut the walk short, you're welcome to rest for refreshments at The Swan Inn in Swinbrook. Your guide and the rest of the group who continue on the walk will collect you on the way back.

The final village on our Windrush Valley walk is the lovely village of Widford. We'll cross stiles and cattle grids to pass through lovely fields and meadows, passing back through Swinbrook and returning to Asthall to complete the figure-of-eight.
