The Punta del Este Lighthouse is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, in Punta del Este, Maldonado, Uruguay. It was built in 1860. It is a cylindrical masonry tower, a dome with white and red radial stripes and white buildings 25 meters high at the foot. Materials from Europe were used for its construction.

The downgoing hill shapes as the flukes of a whale (reason for its name), and is also the host for Casa Pueblo - museum arthouse designed by Carlos Páez Vilaró - a nationwide well-known artist and muralist par excellence. Casapueblo - In its rooms, paintings, ceramics and sculptures made in different stages of artistic work are exhibited. The Museum has a movie theater, where documentaries about Carlos Paez' life and work are shown. Throughout the route, which includes five rooms and three terraces, the concept of modeled architecture is perceived, whether through its passageways, paths, archways or objects embedded in the walls.

This emblematic stop point takes on important historical significance, as it housed the start of the military career of José Gervasio Artigas - one of the most relevant patriotic figures of Uruguay. Constructed around 1797 with a distinctive architectonical style that makes it stand out from the rest of our stopping points around Punta Del Este.
