Overview
Karavasta lagoon is a must for bird watchers, bout trip and go summing . The Karavastaja Lagoons are an internationally recognized wetland area under the Ramsar Convention. It is the winter home of several rare bird species including flamingos and pelicans. Be warned as it is a wetland area there will be mosquitoes here!

What To Expect
Durres Amphitheatre
The amphitheater was built in the beginning of the 2nd century AD, and was used for performances until the 4th century AD.

Parku Kombetar Divjake-Karavasta
The lagoon is located inside the boundaries of Divjaka-Karavasta National Park and has been recognised as a wetland of international importance by designation under the Ramsar Convention. The lagoon has been identified as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International, because it supports significant numbers of the populations of various bird species. The area well known for the Dalmatian pelican colony (Pelicanus crispus ) which numbers some 60-70 couples, which represent 5% of the total world population of this species.
