The Monti district is the heart of the trulli area which rises towards the side of a hill with small parallel streets flanked by white houses. Here there are over 1000 trulli while in the area called Rione Aia piccolo there are another 400.

Martina Franca
Martina Franca where the baroque defined as Martinese reigns. Martina Franca is located on a plateau that has always been inhabited, its golden period was in the 18th century when the most beautiful buildings arose, among which we cannot fail to mention the Palazzo Ducale with its rooms rich in frescoes and the basilica of San Martino which, in the heart of the centre, is striking for its majestic façade where the statue of the patron saint stands out.

Known as "the White City", Ostuni is a truly pretty village that stands on three hills in the land of Salento. Located right on the south-eastern slopes of the Murgia, Ostuni is famous for its historic center characterized by white lime buildings and houses. The custom of using lime for construction is very ancient and it seems that it arose not only because this was an easily available product and gave greater light to the city streets but also because in the Middle Ages it was thought to be a natural disinfectant against the plague.

The ceramics district of Grottaglie, located in the lower part of the city, is famous for its ceramic creations, an ancient art that is still practiced today. Grottaglie ceramics are particularly appreciated for their beauty and versatility. The ceramic artisans of Grottaglie produce a vast range of products: shards, capase, pomi (pumi), reproductions of fruit and citrus fruits, trees, flowers and even decorated tiles to cover floors, dishes and art objects.
