What To Expect
Kenai Fjords National Park
This full-day tour departs the Seward Small Boat Harbor daily at 730 a.m. We have no set itinerary; the captain will choose the route based on weather, information from other tour boats, and input from you, the guests. We'll cruise south out of Resurrection Bay, looking for humpback whales and orcas in the Gulf of Alaska. If conditions permit, we'll head out to the Chiswell Islands to view the massive seabird colonies that form during the summer months. Next, we'll head for one of the three tidewater glaciers that are within reach: Holgate, Aialik, or, on rare occasions, Northwestern. We'll spend approximately 30–45 minutes at the glacier, waiting for the legendary white thunder of icebergs calving off and falling into the ocean. Finally, we'll head back to Seward, saving some time for any last-minute wildlife opportunities that may present themselves.
