Take a local train from Sendai Station to Yamadera Station.

Risshaku-ji Temple

Established in the year 860, Yama-dera (Hojusan Risshaku-ji Temple) is the setting for poems of Matsuo Basho, Japan's most famous poet in the Edo period. It is gaining popularity as a sightseeing spot where visitors can relish the scenery after climbing 1,015 stone steps. Blessed with abundant nature, this place has an atmosphere that can be enjoyed in every season. After heading down the mountain, customers will purchase their own lunch. *Meals are not included. Customers are to pay for required charges themselves.

Oishida-machi

Take a rapid train and Shinkansen Train from Yamadera Station to Oishida Station (75 minutes). Then, transfer from Oishida Station to Ginzan Onsen (30 minutes).

Ginzan Onsen is filled with a retro atmosphere where visitors can feel as if they've traveled back in time.
