The Union Buildings located in South Africa’s capital city Pretoria, is the official seat of the national government and the site where Nelson Mandela was inaugurated the first democratically elected president in 1994. Nelson Mandela Bridge
Was opened in 2003 by Nelson Mandela, the bridge is the largest cable-stayed bridge in southern Africa located in the city centre. The bridge soars over more than 40 rail lines, linking the Newtown and Braamfontein towns and symbolizing the unity for which Mandela was known.

Newtown
The Chancellor House is a building that once housed the first black legal practice in the South Africa, the law firm of Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo, trying to help people who were accused of crimes against apartheid laws. A statue of a young Mandela as a boxer stands opposite, and is a tribute to his early beginnings in the city.
