You will learn about the rich history and profound significance of the mala, from its origins to its role in meditation and astrological practices. Gain hands-on experience in knotting techniques and learn to distinguish between authentic and imitation beads as well. At the end of the workshop, take home a tangible memory of your brief connection with this spiritual artistry.
Upon arrival at the workshop, the artisan will traditionally welcome you, and will familiarize you with your activity for the day. After a brief introduction, you will be guided by the artisan who has dedicated a long time to the art through generations, and through the making process with demonstrations and techniques. After 2 to 3 hours of workshop, you will realize and appreciate the dedication and hard work put through to create a masterpiece! You will be served a well-deserved delicious traditional Nepali lunch after your work. After you are done, you can take home the piece that you have just created as a souvenir.
