Let's immerse ourselves in the Nakahechi route, which is the most popular of the surviving Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trails.
UNESCO World Heritage sites, Kumano Kodo and St. James' Way (Spain), are located in both regions, and for over 20 years, the two regions have worked together to contribute to world peace through youth exchange programs and joint tourism promotion.
Kumano worship has a history of the coexistence of different religions in a syncretism of Shintoism and Buddhism. At the bottom of this belief is the worship of nature. Kumano's respect for nature can send a message of peace to the world.

Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine
Kumano Hongu Taisha The Kumano Hongu Taisha is the first stop on the Nakahechi route, one of the most popular pilgrimage routes in Kumano, after a long and arduous journey. Among the three mountains, the Kumano Hongu Taisha has a particularly old-fashioned atmosphere. If you arrive early, you will be guided to Oyunobara. The 33-meter-high Otorii (Grand Gate), the tallest in Japan, was built in a corner of the vast site where the old shrine building used to stand before the Hongu Taisha was relocated.

Take a bus departing from the Hongu Taisha-mae bus stop to Kii Tanabe Station.

Take Limited Express Kuroshio 36 to go back to Osaka. From Kii Tanabe station → Shin Osaka station (arrive at 22:08 p.m.). No guide will accompany you.

- The Kumano Kodo walk may be canceled at the location due to inclement weather, unavoidable circumstances, or other reasons. Please note that in this case, refunds will not be provided.
- Please ensure you arrive promptly at the designated meeting place. Refunds will not be provided if you fail to arrive at the meeting location on time (no show).
- Please refrain from consuming alcohol on the vehicle. Kindly take all trash with you when leaving the vehicle. Please do not leave any trash on board.
