Overview
Portela, one of the greatest symbols of the Brazilian carnival, is celebrating a century of history. Founded in 1923, Portela was built in a place where the black people of a city marked by slavery found shelter, strength and direction. Since 1923, Portela has been defining the tradition of samba and has accumulated 22 titles, being the biggest winner of the Carioca Carnival.

What To Expect
Quadra da Portela
You will get to know one of the most traditional samba schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro. We will visit the suburb of Madureira to get to know Portela, the majesty of samba, the greatest champion of carnival. Live a special night with lots of music, samba, axé and Afro-Brazilian culture in an authentic and carioca way. - Evening rehearsal experience of the samba school in Portela. - Get to know the history and culture of Samba. - Watch a 10-note drum show. - Mingle with the samba community and learn to dance to the Afro-Brazilian rhythm. - Access to a group table for rest.
