Overview
With this tour, you are going to visit the Kser Tamnougalt which is surrounded by a very high wall. To get inside, there is an agriculture door, two doors of the caravan and the main square door. Furthermore, walking through the village, you discover a Jewish Mellah, a synagogue, a marabout, many little houses for average people (Berber, Black, and Jewish people), and the house of the leader (the Kasbah) which was built in the 16th century.
The mountain Kissan is clearly shown to the left. In the east of the village, there is a very nice Kasbah Tawrirt on a hill. Afterward, you can visit the palmary for a discovery walk. Then we end in a part of the Kasbah where there is a very nice guest house and restaurant.
The guests would be able to limit the visit to the palmary or just visit the Kasbah. They can also hike to the mountains in the early morning if they are interested at.

What To Expect
Kasbah Des Caids Du Mezguita
The main Kasbah Des Caids was built in the middle of the Kser Tamnougalt at the end of the 16th century. The most beautiful places to see in the Kasbah Des Caids are the museum, the old kitchen, the main place for the celebrations, and a nice terrasse where all the surrounding is shown. Tamnougalt was the capital of Daraa, the main passage for those caravans from South to Marrakesh. The Kser was built mainly by the Pisar walls in addition to clay bricks and stones. It exists exactly between a very nice fruitful palmary and high mountains Kissan. Tamnougalt now hosts a lot of tourists who are going to the Sahara to enjoy the big dunes of Shegaga and Irg Shebbi in Merzouga. The Former capital of the Mezguita tribe, Ksar Tamnougalt is one of the oldest sources that is still in good condition in the Draa Valley. Founded more than three centuries ago by a family of Caïds, who represented the sultan in the area, Ksar Tamnougalt occupied a strategic position. On one hand, Tamnougalt had a commercial function along the caravan route from Marrakech to Tombouctou. On the other hand, it played a defensive role, protecting the Drâa Valley from other tribes’ invasions. For centuries, Ksar Tamnougalt has dominated the oasis. It offers a stunning view of the Draa Valley. After walking through the labyrinth of corridors and semi-covered alleys, you will undoubtedly fall under its spell. Its massive entrance and the breathtaking panoramic view from inside will inspire you. In addition, we are walking for half an hour in the palmary of Daraa valley through the gardens and between thousands of palm trees.
