On this excursion, you will not only discover the spirituality in the everyday life of the Balinese, but also immerse yourself deeply in this faith during a blessing and purification ceremony - called Melukat in Bali. An introduction to Hinduism and Brahmin culture, which isn´t usually given to foreigners, is an important part of your experience and you will gain an insight into Balinese traditions.
The Balinese priest (called Mangku) prepared the ceremony especially for you with rice, flowers - different colours for each part of the ceremony, fragrant incense sticks and holy water. All are carefully crafted for purification and blessing purposes.
The cleaning and blessing ceremony is intended to refresh body and mind and provide space for new experiences. The impact on nature, the local people and their way of life remains minimal, instead you´ve the opportunity to engage intensively with them and thus make a contribution to the preservation of authentic village structures.
You can reach Warung Balikaru from hotsprings (Air Panas) Belulang. Follow the Balikaru signs for an easy walk, about 25 min. uphill. We´re located opposite Bale Belajar. If you´ll like the tour including transfer from/to your accommodation, then simply book program with the code 419157P7.

This activity ends back at the meeting point.
You meet your guide at Warung Balikaru and get first impressions of this wonderful location. Enjoy a refreshing drink before you´ll dressed into Balinese temple clothes in preparation for the ceremony.
The village priest (called Mangku in Bali) has prepared offerings for the purification ceremony, which include rice, flowers, fragrant incense sticks and, above all, holy water, which is used several times during the ceremony.
The Mangku leads you to a sacred, tiny temple next to a secluded river - a truly unique, peaceful place surrounded by lush nature. All you can hear is the slow flow of the holy water and the chirping birds. This natural silence is only interrupted by the sacred bells of the priest, which herald different parts of the ceremony.
Let yourself be captivated by this wonderful, spiritual place and surrender to your personal blessing and purification ceremony - a unique, unforgettable experience for life.
Back to Balikaru, change to your clothes and enjoy a delicious Nasi Campur Tumpeng for lunch at Warung Balikaru.
Relax as long as you want, stroll around the garden or village and take a glimpse at Balai Belajar – the meeting point of village children – if you like.
