The Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, officially Cathedral of San Sebastián de Rio de Janeiro, (in Portuguese, Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, Cathedral of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian Catholic cathedral located in Rio de Janeiro and headquarters from the archdiocese of the city. Dedicated to San Sebastián, patron of Rio de Janeiro, it was built between 1964 and 19791 to replace a series of old churches that had served as cathedrals since the creation of the Archdiocese in 1676.2 It is located in the center of a large park located in the downtown district of the Central Zone of the city.

Maracana

Escadaria Selaron
The Staircase of Selarón or Escadaria de Santa Tereza is a staircase located in the Santa Teresa neighborhood, next to the homonymous convent, in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. He became internationally known for the striking decoration made by Chilean plastic artist Jorge Selarón, work that began in 1990 and continues in constant renewal. Considered by its author as a "living and mutant" work, the staircase has 125 meters and 215 steps, and is completely covered with ceramic pieces of different colors, sizes and shapes. Some of them contain drawings inside.
