On the way to Alquezar we will visit a magnificent DO Somontano winery "Bodegas Laus" and taste its precious wines.
To finish our visit, we will eat in one of its best restaurants "Casa Pardina Restaurante" and taste its precious local products.

Bodega LAUS was founded in 2002. The winery is like an “island in Somontano”, surrounded by water, vineyards, flowers, sun, air... and life. LAUS comes from Latin and means “Praise, congratulations, consideration”. It is a name that perfectly reflects the spirit of this Somontano winery. The logo represents the earth in I Ching symbolism and represents our essence, the territory, the soil on which our vineyard stands. We will visit the Winery in a guided tour and then we will taste 3 of its major wines, accompanied by a local snacks

Our guide will accompany you through the town of Alquezar and we will visit the Castle and collegiate church of Santa Maria La Mayor. Built in the ninth century AD. C. by Khalaf ibn Rasid to stop the Christian kingdoms of the north. Around 1067, it was conquered by Sancho Ramírez, son of Ramiro I, and became a Christian fortress called "Castrum Alqueçaris". As the process of the Reconquest progresses towards Barbastro or Huesca, this fortress loses its military and strategic importance and becomes a religious institution. It is in 1099 when Sancho Ramírez decides to endow Alquézar with a community of Augustinian canons. To do this, he built a Romanesque collegiate church that would be replaced in the 16th century AD. C. for another late Gothic and of which only the atrium with historiated capitals is preserved. In the fourteenth century AD C. the Gothic cloister was built but in a style close to Romanesque.
