The tour starts at 9:00 am from the Casa de las Palmas Hostel on Carrera 11 Calle 13-110 in Leticia, Amazonas, Colombia. From there you will be transferred by land to the Tacana River, eleven kilometres outside of Leticia, to begin a two hour walk through the jungle until you reach a Huitoto maloca. Once at the maloca you will rest and prepare lunch in the traditional style. In the maloca you will have the opportunity to learn about the mambe process and understand what the coca plant means to the Huitoto ethnic group, which has been part of their ancestral tradition. In the evening you will take a walk in the jungle in search of nocturnal animals and insects for between one and two hours before returning to the maloca to spend the night sleeping in a hammock. On the second day you hike back from the highland jungle to the road, where you are picked up by a van that brings you back to Leticia. Once in the village you will have the opportunity to make a short stop and then take the vote that will take you along the Amazon River and the Javari River to a native lodge in the middle of the flooded jungle between Brazil and Peru. At this lodge in Sacambu you will have lunch and dinner, and then go pink dolphin watching, fishing and caiman spotting at night. On the morning of the third day, sail along the lakes and the Sacambu river, getting to know its beautiful landscape and visit a small Peruvian village where you will have the opportunity to see the largest river fish in the world (Arapaima gigas), spot monkeys and take a short boat ride or hike through the flooded jungle depending on the water level of the Amazon River before returning to Leticia around 5:00 pm.
