08:15 AM
We will leave Edinburgh City Centre at 8.15 am and will be back at 6:30 pm. • From Edinburgh to Berwick-upon-Tweed Firstly, we will approach the border between England and Scotland, stopping in the first English village after the frontier, Berwick-upon-Tweed, where we will enjoy its castle and historical centre. Its position over the river Tweed and the North Sea offers amazing views. We will also have time for a walk in the main street. • Bamburgh Castle Our journey leads us to the impressive Bamburgh Castle which is placed in a unique landscape, next to a white sand beach. Among other movies, El Cid, Robin Hood and Elizabeth have been filmed there. We will be able to visit the castle interior and its massive collection of objects related to aviation from two world wars. • Alnwick Castle Our third stop will be at Alnwick Castle, the second biggest castle in the United Kingdom, whose first buildings were erected in 1096. It will not be too difficult to recognise the most famous school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Hogwarts, where the younger fans of Harry Potter can also enjoy a broomstick training. We will also catch a glimpse of the wonderful gardens of the Castle and of the biggest treehouse in Europe. For those who prefer not to enter in the Castle, it will be possible to have lunch in the enchanting village of Alnwick. • From Etal to Edinburgh In our way back to Edinburgh, we will be able to enjoy the landscape of the lowlands, stopping in the charming village of Etal where we can admire the ruins of its castle, built in the 14th century as a defence against Scots raiders.
