Ybor City - The Cuban Club The Cuban Club of today was built in 1917 and was a place for Cuban immigrants to socialize and support each other. The building originally contained a two story theater, pharmacy, library, ballroom. Later on a gymnasium, swimming pool and two bowling lanes were added. Ybor City - Don Vicente Inn The building that became the Don Vicente Inn was originally built in 1895 as The Ybor City Land and Improvement Company offices by Mr. Ybor. It was purchased by a doctor in 1903 to serve as a medical clinic, which it continued to be until 1980. After 2 decades, the building reopened as a hotel. Hear the stories about the patients and staff that became regular guests at the hotel.

Ybor City Ybor City was founded by Vicente Martinez Ybor in 1886 and in 14 short years became the cigar capital of the world, producing as many as 90 million cigars per year at the height of production. For this reason, it became known as “Cigar City”. The City also had its darker side, becoming a haven for Tampa’s organized crime during prohibition. Hear the stories of the speakeasies and underground tunnels and those that still haunt them.
