Overview
This experience is dedicated for people who want to go beyond Matcha. This small group activity is offered for the first time to allow guests to discover the world of Japanese tea, from when it was introduced for the first time in the 9th century to rare or newest teas made in modern Japan. It has been created and is delivered by the founder of the Mandaracha Tea House.

3 min walk from Keihan Line Kiyomizu gojo station. From Gojo/Kawabata junction, you can continue to go east and turn on the first road left after the 7-Eleven. Continue straight (north) for 200m, the shop will be on the left side.

What To Expect
This 90 minutes long experience is was created for those who want to discover Japanese teas in private with a professional in an open and relaxed atmosphere. You will be received by the owner of MANDARACHA Tea House who spent the last 20 years studying teas in Japan, Taiwan and China as well as curating teas for his tea house.
In an ideal setting that combines tradition and modernity, you will familiarize yourself with the different types of Japanese teas and understand what makes them so special. You will be told the story of Japanese tea, cultivation techniques and particular Japanese innovations. Simple infusion techniques will be shown to bring out the best tastes and aromas.
