Overview
A 4hr tour to the historic mountain top batteries and gun emplacements at Castillitos.
Take a tour in our stunning Wrangler Jeep to the Bateria de Castillitos. We ascend winding mountain roads offering spectacular views of the mediterranean.
At the peak we will enter the Bateria which enclose the two collosal Vickers guns with more stunning scenery of the med and surrounding mountains.
These massive batteries were part of the shore defenses of Cartagena.
A must for any military enthusiasts and anyone who loves beautiful scenery with its impressive views & history.
Please note that the Batteria is entered by foot (approx a half kilometre walk), we drive to the entrance and follow this on with a walk around the amazing fortifications & guns.
A refreshement stop is available.

Bateria de Castillitos
Sometimes the custody of the military heritage is a constant source of debate, so that often its conservation is relegated to the background causing its deterioration; examples such as the battery of Monte San Pedro in La Coruña show that a correct restoration of a military installation, through its integration and contextualization, can constitute a pole of tourist attraction and regeneration of spaces for the enjoyment of tourists and locals. The coast of Cartagena is recurrent in military installations, given the strategic importance of its Arsenal, but whose state of conservation is not the most adequate in most cases, yet there are complexes of great eye-catching as is the case of the coastal battery of Castillitos.
