Including Women Diver Show Seongsan Ilchulbong, also called ‘Sunrise Peak’, is an archetypal tuff cone formed by hydrovolcanic eruptions upon a shallow seabed about 5 thousand years ago. Situated on the eastern seaboard of Jeju Island and said to resemble a gigantic ancient castle, this tuff cone is 182 meters high, has a preserved bowl-like crater and also displays diverse inner structures resulting from the sea cliff.

They are a symbol of industry and toughness, but it is also true that they have generally been undervalued in society. The Jeju Haenyeo Museum was built to help re-evaluate haenyeo culture in Jeju and record, preserve and provide education about their significant contributions, socially, economically and historically.

The black basalt stones surrounding the volcanic cone, fused with the scent from Bijarim Forest, forms a view unique to Jeju Island. Miro Park (translates to Maze Park) is designed so that it reminds visitors of the three things that are said to be plentiful on Jeju Island: stones, wind, and women. Sanbangsan, rising to a height of 395 meters is a typical dome-shaped, craterless volcano. Its name, Sanbang, originates from a natural stone cave formed in the middle of the mountain. Inside the cave, called Sanbanggulsa Temple, there is a statue of the Buddha. According to a legend, water drops from the cave ceiling are the tears of love shed by the goddess who protects Sanbangsan’s stone walls.

Yongmeori Coast is a volcanic beach made of ash emitted during violent explosions occurring when hot magna coming from underground met the cold seawater. Going down the narrow path to the beach, you can also see a sandstone cliff. Its name, Yongmeori (it literally means a dragon’s head) comes from its resemblance to a dragon appearing ready to plunge deep into the sea. Cheonjeyeon Falls, named "The Pond of God," consists of 3 sections. Around the falls, a variety of plant life thrives, such as the rare ‘solimnan’ reeds. To the east, there is a cave where cold water pours from the ceiling to create the first waterfall. The water gathers into a pool and from there, falls two more times, creating the second and third waterfalls, which then flow into the sea.

The cliffs are formed when the lava from Mount Hallasan erupted into the sea. The cliff looks like black columns of different sizes and heights grouped together. It reminds me of charcoal, actually. Its amazing how they were formed naturally. It takes a lot of patience to take a photo here since the platform is very crowded

Jeongbang Falls is only water fall in Asia that falls directly into the ocean. On the wall of the water fall, there is an inscription written “Seobulgwacha”, referring to Seobul passing by this place.

At Cheonjiyeon Falls, white water falls from the rock cliff and make a thundering sound. It gets its name because it means “sky connected with land.” It is 22m high and 12m wide, and the view and the sound that the waters create when they fall is magnificent.

Oedolgae Rock, 20 m in height, is the first thing that you will see when you look at the rocks surrounding Namju’s Haegeumgang River and the Seogwipo Chilshipri Coast. About 2 km away to the west of Seogwipo City there is Sammaebong Parsitic Volcano and Oedolgae Rock, which stands on a beautiful shore near the mountain, and was formed when a volcano erupted and changed the island’s landscape about 150,000 years ago. Since it is a strong rock carved by wave erosion, it is called a sea stack. At the peak of the island, there are pine trees that are regenerating.

With the southern peak as its summit, the volcanic cone had ridges to the southwest, northwest, and northeast. The western side is open widely in the shape of a Samtaegi (straw basket) to the north. There are 5 peaks that resemble a round asterisk. The volcanic cone is generally covered in grass, though the northern slope is partially covered in scrubs, and there is a cemetery on the northwestern slope. The volcanic cone gets its name from the fact that it stands along with the morning star under the evening sky.
