What To Expect
Witness the art and history of sake making up close with Tippsy Brewery Tours! This day trip in Kyoto, Japan, will take you behind the scenes at Masuda Tokubee Shoten sake brewery for a tour and tasting, and conclude with a dinner with the brewery’s president.
An English-speaking guide will meet you at Kyoto Station. From there, you’ll make your way to Masuda Tokubee Shoten. Founded in 1675, this enchanting sake brewery is one of the oldest in the Fushimi region of Kyoto prefecture. They were also the first to make “nigori” (cloudy sake), and are also known for excellent “koshu” (aged sake).
After the brewery tour and sake tasting at their newly renovated bar, you’ll have a private dinner with the brewery’s esteemed president — a special honor exclusively for Tippsy Brewer Tours guests! Enjoy a delicious, authentic meal and sake pairing at the yakitori restaurant Kuma no Yakitori Gion Shirakawa. Your guide will travel with you back to Kyoto Station after dinner to conclude the tour.
