You can enjoy an authentic Uji matcha-making experience in a tea room while wearing a kimono.
It is a valuable experience to be taught by a tea ceremony teacher in a tea room.
Uji is a tourist destination in Kyoto with beautiful scenery.
There are many sightseeing spots such as the World Heritage Site Byodo-in Temple and Ujigami Shrine.
Uji has fewer tourists than other parts of Kyoto, so you can have a fulfilling experience. After experiencing matcha green tea in kimono, visitors can enjoy sightseeing in Uji until 4:30 p.m., the final return time for kimono rentals.

If you exit from the south exit (east side) of JR Uji Station and proceed to the left, you will find Family Mart. Climb the stairs on the right side of the building and find it at the front door on the 3rd floor.

What To Expect
Change into a kimono or yukata at Mai, a rental kimono in front of Uji Station. There are many wonderful designs, so you're sure to find something you like. It takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour for each person to change their clothes. Depending on the number of people in your reservation, it may take some time to complete the dressing process.

Uji Matcha Otemae experience. We will begin with matcha from Uji, watch the teacher's tea ceremony, and enjoy sweets and tea. Next, you can make (brew) your own tea and enjoy it. Depending on the reservation status of the matcha experience, it is possible to start the matcha experience after sightseeing in Uji.
