The Big Rocking Horse is a tourist attraction located in the town of Gumeracha, South Australia. Designed by David McIntosh, the structure weighs 25 tonnes, stands at over 18 metres (59 ft) tall, and is one of a number of Big Things in Australia designed to attract the attention of passing motorists. It is part of a larger complex that includes a wooden toy factory, wildlife park and café. Owned by the Wilkinson family since the early 1970s, the complex was sold in 2004 and continues to operate today.

Melba's Chocolate & Confectionery

Melba’s Chocolates was started by Graeme and Joy Foristal in March 1981 in a small wash house behind their Adelaide restaurant, ‘Melba’s’! The business progressed in varying stages and with the restaurant sale, was relocated to a single car garage behind their Oakbank home in the Adelaide Hills. In June 1990 the Adelaide Convention Centre asked Melba’s to supply their after dinner chocolates. Larger premises were required. This coincided with Graeme’s attendance at an Adelaide Confectionery Company’s liquidation sale where he purchased 5 truck loads of equipment. Little did they know that this was the lead up to Melba’s becoming significant chocolate & confectionery makers and a South Australian tourist attraction.

Established in 1994, Woodside Cheese is a family owned and operated artisan cheese factory based in the Adelaide Hills that produces an original range of Australian cheeses using the highest quality South Australian cow & goat milk from small neighbouring herds. Our sister company, Kris Lloyd Artisan, operates from the same factory and was established in 2014 to produce a line of premium handmade Buffalo Milk cheeses. Over the years, the Kris Lloyd Artisan range has grown to include cow and goat milk cheeses with a point of difference. All our cheeses are made by hand to recipes that we have developed and refined over two decades to express the flavour and seasonality of the high quality milk we receive. After the Cheese factory, we will travel to mount lofty which will take approximately 40 minutes. We will stay at this location for approximately 45 minutes.
