What To Expect
Meinong East Gate Tower
The East Gate Tower is a famous landmark in Meinong, with a unique appearance. It was built as an internal structure in the East Fence by Hakka people who valued education in the hope that their descendants would prosper. It was rebuilt in imitation Qing style, with dragon eaves and a pheonix pavilion, and four large characters “Da Qi Wen Ming” (大啟文明 in Chinese), have been inscribed upon the gatehouse.

Also known as Shengji Pavilion, Jingsheng Pavilion, and Zizhi Pavilion. “Respect and revere characters, and uphold good writing” is a traditional concept nurtured by Confucian thought. There are currently four well-preserved Pavilions in Meinong District, in Jungualiao, Shangzhuang, and Longdu, of which the oldest and best-preserved is at the intersection of Zhongshang Road and Youngan Road, Minong Village Respect Word Pavilion, a third-grade national heritage site which was built during the Qianlong Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty.

Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Culture Park
In order to preserve aboriginal culture and resources, the government established Taiwan Indigenous Culture Park in Pingtung County in 1987. The park is 82.65 hectares in area, presenting each of the aboriginal tribes and their characteristics. The park is next to Fugu Bay, which as a natural and graceful scenery.

Shanchuan Glass Bridge
262m-long and 15-story high bridge in the Sandimen (三地門) area and Majia (瑪家) and Neipu (內埔) townships in Pingtung County was hailed as the nation’s longest suspension bridge. The bridge has other unique aspects, such as anchoring below rocks on both sides and high-end construction materials, such as stainless steel that has been certified rust-resistant for about 150 years.
