Overview
This package has been carefully put together in order for the walkers to get to hike in two different areas of the island, east and west of Kyrenia/Girne. The walks have been ‘hand picked’ for maximum enjoyment of views, flora, fauna, and hidden sites. Should you choose to hire a car, a handful of historical and cultural monuments such as monasteries, castles, and other objects of cultural and historical interest are within easy reach for a visit during this week. The altitude of walks ranges between 250-350 m sometimes with narrow paths which make the going slow. The timing of each hike is calculated to be approximately 3-3.5 hours.
Note: If you prefer longer hikes, no worries. We have extensive knowledge of the trails and this can be arranged for you. This itinerary was prepared for average fitness hikers.

Meet at the car park of Alsancak Municipality. An arrangement will be done with the customer prior to the trip.

What To Expect
Self-Guided Walking Holiday 8 days
Day1 Transfer from the airport to the host’s rural home in Alsancak, west of Kyrenia, your base for 3 nights. Dinner with your hosts on the first evening
Day2 You will be briefed in the morning. Hiking is around the village of Alsancak and Lapta a combination of nature & village trails.
Day3 Another day around the west of Kyrenia. The hike would be around Karsiyaka village. The trail goes along a ridge. When you reach the top, you have amazing view of Sinai Monastery.
Day4 Your last day west of Kyrenia offers another experience, this time around the village of Ilgaz. Transfer to the east of Kyrenia, Esentepe village.
Day5 Short drive to the village, explore the quiet life of Esentepe. Drive to the start of the walk where you will cross a beautiful forest and you will find hidden Monasteries.
Day6 You will drive to a nearby village and will explore the tunnel walk. A long gentle uphill hike that takes you to the top of the Kyrenia mountain range where you will enjoy stunning views.
Day7 Another drive, mostly on the coast road, to a crusader castle east of Esentepe. Kantara village is very quiet. Lots of cyclamen in the spring.

- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
- Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
