Like a dense green blanket, the tea plantations of the highlands are above the mountains at Nuwara Eliya, while you travel by train across the highlands. Also Kandy and the elephants of the orphanage in Pinnawela. The right tour for all who want to get to know a bit of typical Sri Lanka.

At 5:00 pm our German speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel and you will visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala. It is a very special experience to observe these majestic animals feeding the herd and bathing in the Mahaweli River. Nothing more than loving the elephants in the water, swimming and scrubbing their mahouts. Do you also want to be a lifeguard for an elephant or even go for a ride? Your tour continues to the former royal city of Kandy, where you visit the Royal Botanical Garden of Peradeniya. The Botanical Garden was created in the 14th century as a royal pleasure garden and houses a number of rare, exotic plants and trees. Also beautiful is the Orchid House, where more than 300 different species of colorful orchids are bred.

In the evening, the Sri Dalada Maligawa Tooth Temple, Sri Lanka's most important sanctuary, is on your schedule. Enjoy the atmosphere of the temple complex with the many pilgrims on a guided tour and let our tour guide introduce you to the world of Buddhism.

The evening show of the Kandy Dancer completes your day. In the colorful colors of the costumes, the haunting tones of the drummers and the flowing movements of the graceful dancers, as well as the acrobatic dancers, you will experience a part of the living folklore of Sri Lanka.

The next day you will be fortified with a good breakfast for the day. Start early and drive up to 2000m to Upper Glenn. On the way, you can not only watch the tea pickers, but also learn more about Sri Lanka's most important export item, the Ceylon tea, on a tour of the tea factory. At a small city tour / walk you will pass the places where the English tea barons met for a high tea or a sundowner. Impressive panoramas, tea plantations, waterfalls accompany your train journey that brings you from Nanu Oya near Adams Peak to Hatton. Flying traders travel a bit to sell spicy pineapple or mangoes, cadets and all sorts of goodies. Let yourself be captivated by the hustle and bustle of the train ride, the picturesque train stations and the beautiful landscapes. In Hatton your driver will be waiting for you and will drive you back through the different landscapes to your hotel.
