Treasure Hunt in the Summer Palace is one of the most magic experiences and loved by people of all ages especially families with kids! The Summer Palace listed as one of world cultural heritage sites, is previously called Garden of Clear Ripples, and it is designed and built by one of the greatest emperors in Chinese history, Emperor Qianlong in 1750. During this experience, We will explore the much less touristy part of the Summer Palace and find the hidden treasures scattered here and there in the back hill of the Longevity Hill. They are the historical remains survived from the Fire lit by the Anglo-French Allied Forces in 1860, which are simply beautiful and out of language. We will discover the elements of traditional Chinese gardens and understand how a garden is designed and appreciate the true beauty of it. We will also do some measuring by our own hands at the sites just like an archaeologist and resolve the riddles of traditional Chinese architecture. Finally, let’s have a cup of Chinese tea prepared by Yuhua and practice mindfulness in a very soothing, beautiful hidden retreat where Emperor Qianlong may have also savored his tea.
