Zhangye located in the northwest of China Gansu province, it was known as “Ganzhou” in the past time. As the “arm” in Zhangqian Period to the communication with the western regions in Western Han Dynasty. Zhangye got it’s name and has always been praised as “the Yangtze River region in the frontier” and “the Golden Zhangye”. This morning you will visit the Horse Hoof Temple Grottoes the legend said that the Heavenly Horse left a footprint in the cave, it has become a treasure of the temple, you will see the beautiful snow mountain and grassland here. Enjoy lunch in the local ethnic Yugur people’s tent. Pingshanhu Grand Canyon is the TOP 5 grand canyon in the world. Meet your private tour guide at the lobby of your Zhangye hotel, by car / bus to the Horse-Hoof Temple Grottoes, you will see the countryside view and grassland on the way. The Horse-Hoof Temple Grottoes located in the Qilian Snow Mountain, initially the first cave was opened by Guoyu who came from Dunhuang in the third century. It is a very important Buddhism Grottoes in Gansu.
Enjoy lunch a local ethnic Yugur people's tent, this minority group just can be find in Gansu province. they believe Tibten Buddhism also well.
In the afternoon, transfer to Pingshanhu Grand Canyon, hiking in the canyon and the Gobi desert. you will see a very different place in western China. someone said it is like a Mars. There are many natural and cultural scenes at the scenic spot including " nine dragons at sea . miracle canyon , lovers Peak , " one - line - sky , lucky elms , inquisitive toad , bird , animals and tower as well as stone forest . the wild appearance formed in millions of years and labyrinth - like gorge took out the specific style and magnificent views found only in the west of China .
