Are you ready to embark on a journey to an overlook showing the landscape of Heber Valley?
Picture this - driving up forest road 309, surrounded by the beauty of nature, for roughly an hour of gentle exploration. Along the way, you'll encounter wild animals and livestock, adding a touch of excitement to your adventure. As you make your way to the top, a stunning view of the Heber Valley awaits, with Mount Timpanos towering in the distance.
While there are no bathrooms along the way, the opportunity to stop, explore on foot, and capture photographs is encouraged.
Temperatures usually drop 10-15 degrees from the valley to the view point. Doors may be on or off and what is outside (usually dust!) might just be on the inside. If it is raining there is a high chance we will get wet and or muddy. Heat is usually not much of an issue but it can get cool especially in the evenings and on a moments notice with a storm rolling through. Highly recommended to book this 1.5 hours before sunset.
We can pick you up right from your Hotel parking lot (Holiday Inn Express, Mac's Motel, High Country Inn, Best Western Pluss) or most locations inside Heber City. It won't be hard to spot the Red Jeep out front 15 minutes prior to start time!
Get ready to embark on a gentle journey through the picturesque landscapes heading toward Bald Knoll peaking out of the Uinta Mountain Range. We traverse along Forest Road 309, you will be captivated by the views that unfold. We will reach a lookout point where the entire Heber Valley stretches out below you, offering a panoramic vista that extends all the way to the majestic Mount Timpanogos. What sets this off-road trip apart is not just the stunning scenery but also the laid-back and welcoming culture that surrounds us. Our journey is not just about the destination but also about the experience of immersing ourselves in the tranquil beauty of nature, surrounded by like-minded individuals who share a passion for exploration and adventure. Stops are welcome and encouraged along the trail. Frequent wildlife encounters such as deer, elk, occasional moose, skunks, and the less wild sheep, horses and cows. Looking forward to having you on board for this remarkable journey!
