In this 2days 1 night tour from Kolkata, we will visit Murshidabad, the old capital of Bengal. We will relive the history of Murshidabad where Mir Jaffar betrayed the Nawab of Bengal and The East India Company gained control of Bengal and eventually all of India. We will visit the site of the famous Battle of Plassey, Katra Masjid, the house of Siraj-ud-daula the Nawab, Mir Jaffar the traitor and Jagat Seth the most famous money lender of Murshidabad, the Imambara and the magnificent Palace of a thousand doors.
Day 1- 630AM Depart Kolkata for Murshidabad tour

We begin the Murshidabad tour at the grounds where the great battle of Plassey was fought which changed the course of Indian history. The victory of East India Company in this battle over Siraj-ud-Daula the Nawab of Bengal, established the British rule in India. Robert Clive had bribed Mir Jafar who was an aspirant to the throne of Nawab of Bengal, and this betrayal ensured that the battle was over in a few hours with a decisive victory for East India Company.
We will visit the house and cemetery of Mir Jafar. Nimak Haram Deori is the main gate leading to Mir Jafar, the traitor’s palace Jafargunj. It is a memorial of the darkest hour in the history of Bengal. Mir Jaffar’s betrayal was decisive in the colonization of Bengal and India

Next, we visit Katra Mosque, built by Nawab Murshid Quli Khan between the years 1723 and 1724. Katra Mosque was an important centre for Islamic learning. Next, we visit Hazarduari, the magnificent Palace with a thousand doors. While 900 doors are real, the rest are false doors built to confuse intruders.
