What To Expect
Crossing the portal of the church and being immersed in another atmosphere, being transported to another Rome is one and the same. Coffered ceiling, reused Roman columns, two altars dedicated to the devotion of two saints: the Blessed Elisabetta Sanna and San Vicenzo Pallotti.
The real discovery takes place by passing through the sacristy door and going down the stairs to access the crypt located exactly below the presbytery.
A room that is not too large, almost small, intimate, approximately rectangular in shape with three naves with cross vaults.

You go down, a road pavement, walls in opus reticulata (dating to the period of Augustus), walls in opus tufa and bricks (shortly after the Augustan period) and a series of other structures referable to the full imperial age (we are in the period which reigns the Optimus Princeps, Trajan, i.e. between the 1st century AD and the 2nd century AD).
